Eggshells is a safe, supportive space for Veterans and Veteran Families impacted by a loved one’s substance use.
Eggshells is an invitation to change, an opportunity to grow, and a place to connect with others who truly understand. Eggshells fosters healing, empowerment, and hope through self-awareness, self-care, and understanding.
From the very first group session, safety and confidentiality are at the forefront of Eggshells. Participants choose what and how much to share about their experiences — listening is participating. They explore key topics, engage in self-reflective activities, and learn to apply effective strategies and tools.
When someone is impacted by a loved one’s substance use, it can lead to overwhelm, self-neglect, exhaustion, and resentment. At each session, participants focus on themselves, identify their needs and learn self-care coping techniques that are reinforced throughout the 16-week group program and counsellor-facilitated peer support.
Eggshells is a community centred on care and connections. When caring for ourselves, we feel more regulated and grounded, our patience, compassion and energy increases, and our relationships improve.
If you or someone you know may benefit from Eggshells, don’t hesitate to contact us.◙
